Question Humid, salty air worries

I just recently moved to Florida and I was wondering what sorts of extra precautions, if any, I should be taking to protect the car from the extreme humidity and ocean air. Any suggestions?

Number one no no is dont do what i see the tourist do around Daytona and that is drive thru the the ocean water on the beach ! Seriously i have had P cars for 20 years here and never had a rust problem. Park inside if you can at nite and keep some wax on it.

I live along the coast and my house is almost daily surrounded by salty fog. Residents do have problems with rust on their cars. I think there is not a lot more you can do past the obvious: Wash and wax as often as time permits and keep her garaged.

How about those little self-contained de-humidifiers? The can type? Has anyone ever tried those. Adrian's book says they're a good idea, but I don't think I've ever seen the type in his book.

From what I've heard of Florida humidity, you'd need a whole truck load!

From what I've experienced of Florida humidity, I'd say you're probably spot on, John!
