Everybody thinks I am worried very much about all, this is not the point. I just wonder if other people fear for damage or not. I drive the car every day 7 days a week and don't fear, just think about it sometimes, how long will the clutch hold etc.
If I was too worried I would sell it and for certain NOT drive it on track. I thrust my car, the experience of 2,5 years is great.

All joking aside, I do understand your thinking on this. Now when I had a Ferrari 308 I was ALWAYS worried about what might go wrong next and whether or not the car would bankrupt me.

I have much more confidence in my Porsche.

Default Wait a moment, we are talking about a Porsche?

Oil spots on the garage floor, mechanical noises from the engine, smelling burnt oil, - are these not part of owning a 911? Porsche has been building these drippy, noisy, smell, wonderfully sensual GT cars for 40 + years. And they are built to be Driven ... Fast! So please - as the song writer said ...Don't worry be Happy !!!

Arjan, I hope you meant "trust". "Thrusting" your car can be quite painful.

My greatest fear is that Paula's MS will get so bad that it simply won't be possible for her to come out in the 964 without it becoming a major logistical operation, or even not possible at all. Also, my back tends to be rather fragile and the more I have to lift her...

Still, on the bright side, we have some good and helpful friends that have already made the impossible possible...

I also worry that no matter how I cherish, care for and maintain my 964, it 'works' in a very hostile environment and one day some moron is just going to...

That is a bad fear John, I saw Paula having great problems coming out of your 964 in Germany. I think she is very brave to come with you at this stage. Please say hi to her from me...........an wish her a nice day.

I always think its so cool to see you AND Paula at all the various events, enjoying the Porsche together. I expect there are many on the board who WISH their wives shared the passion like this!

John, do you mean getting dinged on the highway or where she is parked during the day? Cheshire becoming overun with vandals?

Very much a shared thing. People (even those who have known us a very long time) often just can't really understand that Paula actually enjoys this sort of thing. She doesn't want to go shopping, so don't offer to take her! She wants to be sitting in the passenger seat no matter what is going on, no matter what the speed and no matter how sideways we get.

Similarly, I don't want to do it if she isn't there. The Blue Shadow is often urging me to 'do a lap on your own, just to see how the car feels and whether it's any quicker...' And why would I want to know...?

Yes - on the highway is what worries me. Too many switched-off people driving out there. I come into contact with so many 'average' people during my working day - it really worries me to think that these people are out there on the roads when my pride & joy is out there too.!
