I really love the car, and just need to enjoy it. It really is a car I should never get rid of...

I finally broke down and sold my 914 that I had refurbished from the ground up. I did not want to get rid of it but I never drove it or had a chance to enjoy it, as you said.
I got close to my asking price and decided it was time. The new owner really loves the car.
The real kick in the butt is, the new owner brought it down to High Marques in Morristown, NJ and they did a complete evaluation of the car. When they were done the new owner was happy and now I am sad. They rated the car amongst the top 5% of all 914's in the country. They said I did everything to spec and did not miss a single improvement without altering the car form its originality. If it weren't for three minor paint blemishes the car would have been a perfect 5 foot car as it stands it is a 5 footer from beneath and a 10 footer from the top. Not to mention what they felt it was worth vs what I let it go for.
Now I wish I never sold it and should have just kept it covered in the garage. Oh well. Lifes a beach.
Hold on to your beauty, you will not regret it, as I am doing now. Finding a car to equal what you have will be a harder task then finding a buyer to give you what its worth.

Thanks Howard
I kind of liked it myself too
By now I've made many pictures of cars (commercially), and I thought it was only fair to take some pics of my own car for a change
Cheers,
JW

You know it is such a hard decision to get rid of any Porsche. Even if you don't use it often, it will haunt you one day when looking for one equally as nice to replace it... Burning Brakes
A friends father has a 964 Speedster which I have yet to see. The last time I was at his parents house they had gone to France in the car for the weekend so I didn't get the chance to be nosey.
It's black with black and only 15,000 miles on the clock and judging by the concourse tropheys dotted around the house it must be pretty special so next time I'm over there I'll try and get a few photos.

Dove, thank you for the compliment. What made my Speedster so rare (not necessarily more valuable) is the fact that n 1994 Porsche produced the Speedsters in a relatively short run (around 900), and they had 5 colors Red, Black, White, Yellow, and Blue (I think), so there was not much opportunity to order a special color, especially Polar Silver. For some reason the 1989 Speedsters still sell for more than the 94s even though the latter had more hp and weighed less, and was more "spartan" inside, similar to the original Speedsters. Go figure.
