Lightbulb third rear stoplight

The combination of low-sitting tail lights, and VERY good brakes has me worried about someone ramming into my dear car from behind.

Therefore, I would like to install a third stoplight at the top edge of my rear window. What would you guys recommend? A spoiler strip above the rear window? Or trying to find the interior third stoplight that Porsche fitted on US cars?

Take care

The factory 3rd brake lights on the US cars are very reliable. I would recommend them. I'm not sure how hard it will be to get the parts for you though.

I would recommend the roof spoiler w/integrated brake light because it does not obstruct the rear view as much as the US third brake lights does.

Thanks for the advise. I think Peter is making a good a point about not obstructing the rear view. I'll start looking for a roof spoiler with integrated stoplight.

Please, let me know if anyone knows where to buy these things.

Have a nice weekend!!!

Dear Jens,
First place for you to call is AMAG Lausanne, Porsche department. At least you might get the kit part number from them. Some stuff from AMAG is reasonably priced.
If you are looking at aftermarket you will have to go to Germany. However I would recommend that you also check with your motor inspection place regarding certification of such products. These people have some strange ways and strange approvals. They may well only approve the installation of the factory kit or kits purchased from Swiss shops.
This advice comes from the real world and having many parts initially rejected by these people during inspections. Rules vary from Kanton to Kanton but at 60 CHF a rejection it can get expensive.
Ciao,
Adrian

Adrian,

As usual, an excellent advise from you!!! I have no desire to run foul of the Swiss authorities. I'll pop by AMAG in Lausanne and ask them.

Take care
