Default C2 compatability?

2 quick questions:
1- What the heck are you guys doing to replace the worn leather shifter in your 964's???? Will a 993 shifter/boot work? I would like to update the interior and not just buy a recovered shifter from AGLA.
2- Tell me that Boxter or 996 front seats are a bolt in option for a 964. I like the hardback options on some of the 996's.

Just got another porsche and having a great time playing with it!

Christian, Alan Gunn Accessories in Florida supplies type-911 in the UK.

You may want to read the following thread (at your own risk....don't say I didnt warn you) before deciding whether to buy the entire boot ready made up or whether to recover the old one yourself:

Mssrs Boggiano and Mugglestone stay away....stay well away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's a great post Howard - I never saw that before! I must say I laughed quite hard reading C4TT's comment about how it looked like a wrinkly dog!!!!

That's funny, Howard! Are you still running that boot in your car? Woof!

FWIW, I do have a 993TT boot in my C2, fits fine. It is attached to 993 6-speed, but I don't think that matters. It clips into the console area the same as a 964. According to PET, the gear shift lever part #s are the same for the 964 and 993 C2.

The 993 C4 uses a different part number for the gear shift lever. Yet, I have an awd drive type boot (TT) attached to a C2 993 transmission. So, the difference between gear shift levers must be on the tranny end, not the boot interface.

Default Shifter

I tried to order one from AGLA but it turned into a fiasco. The lady on the phone told me that there was many different colors of tan on a 1990 C2. Plus there were different sizes of ***** for that year also.?????? News to me but I didnt have time to start decoding. I will try again on monday.
