Belt light is on
The other day the belt warning light came on (It looks like a symbol for a belt, I don't remember the proper name for the light right now). I opened up the engine hatch with the engine running but all belts seem to be working fine. Any ideas? Could it be something to do with the blower assembly? Thanks in advance.

Brian,
Have you checked to see if the belt sensor wheel is OK? It's a little wheel on the left hand side which touches the fan belt & if this has broken, could cause your light to come on.
Another cause could be that your belt is too loose, tricking the sensor to think it has broken.

Dear Brian,
A common cause of this small problem is the connector to the sensor. I recommend you remove it and check the pins.
The microswitch may also have failed which will also turn on the fan belt tension warn light.
Of course a loose engine driven fan belt will also turn it on.

Avoid my mistake and check the belts closely. Replace them if there is any doubt, and make sure you go by the book fitting the new ones. I have a small dent in my rear deck from the impact of a broken belt. I was within coasting distance of home, or it could also have resulted in a flat bed haul.
