Yea, unbolt the window frame. It slides straight up and out of the door.

So I would remove the bolts holding the window frame in place, and slide the whole frame out with the quarter window
Leaving the door glass in place inside the door. Then remove the quarter glass from the frame.
Then on reinstall I would just line up the door glass with the frame as I slide the frame back down around it.
Does that sound right?

No need to remove the quarter glass from the frame at all unless the quarter glass seals are bad.
Just remove the frame from the door and then you can pull off the door to door window seals and paint.

SEM trim paint is all you need for the door frames. Gloss black won't look good IMO.

That sounds like a plan,. Thanks for the advice. SEM trim black it is.
What about the headlight trim rings? Mine were black, but i think from factory they would have been red.
At the bottom of the side sills the car had gloss black, would you do the headlight trim rings in gloss black, or match them to the Indian red?
(see picture at start of thread)
And as mentioned above, what about the black grill in the rear spoiler?
Thank you for all the advice by the way. I appreciate the input.
The car was supposed to go in for paint at the end of August, but the painter is running behind schedule.

Sem trim black has been a standard for a long time. There is a new version from Sem, Trim Black Ultra 49143 that is a deeper black and looks much better than the standard trim black 39143 aerosol.
If you want to go the 2k route, which is much better in terms of durability and fade resistance, go with an aerosol made by SprayMax. 2k hot rod satin black, Sprays fantastic and better option especially for the lower portion of the rockers and rear bumper. Item # 3680212 that is available at most auto body supply stores. Down side tot he SprayMax is has a pot life once activated of 24 hrs.

I still think based on my experience at actually painting my car I think the best option is to tape off the color portion of your rear spoiler and spray the black you choose for it. I went the opposite way taped off the grill to paint the color then thought about the black grill and didn’t paint the black portion. Wish I would have and still can just having too much fun driving her to work on it a bunch. But winter will soon be here in the Black Hills so Maybe I’ll paint the black portion. I don’t think I
will take it off the car I think it will be easy to tape off the color part cover the rest of the car with a cheap plastic drip cloth squirt paint on the grill snd be done
