Thumbs up The most generous guy on Rennlist

For five insane days, over 140 of us have been sponsors of Kevin Buckler’s The Racers Group LE MANS entry. It’s been wild fun. Probably the most fun I’ve personally ever had in motor sports, without actually being on the track. We actually had a car running at Le Mans!

Thanks to everyone on the “Hey, Wait For Me” Racing team, and others with the same crazy fantasy, who dug into their pockets to make it a reality.

However, the man who was the catalyst for it all, the nutty New Englander with the twinkle in his eye, is the one who truly deserves all our gratitude.

To encourage Rennlisters to participate, John selflessly offered two years membership dues free to anyone who contributed our requested amount.

Each of us had to dig into our pockets a bit to be a part of this “effort”.

John D, however, dug into his own pocket EACH TIME one of us contributed. All so we could share the fun of living a daydream.

I hope you’ll take a moment and do the math.

And learn the magnitude of JohnD's generosity.

I did think about this. And continue to be grateful and admire John and Jenn. My thanks for this and everything.

I thought about it too. Thank you Mike and John for this rare opportunity.

JOhn and Jenn deserve whatever applause, I'm afraid ... but don't tell 'em I said so .... !

In a bit of irony, I spend time over the weekend trying to discover how LeMans was going, then how it went .... all to no avail ... I was working the Zone 1 PCA enduros at Watkins Glen and one of the teams in competition was TRG -- even they had no access to the information as late as last evening. One person thought there had been a flat tire and she thought they'd been in sixth place at one point.

Anyone have a link to a blow-by-blow for the race? Joe W
