odd timing for belt light????

My car had its 120,000 service done about 2,000 miles ago. This weekend I decided to clean the engine bay.

I covered the dis. cap with a plastic bag and went on to spray cleaner, scrub and lightly spray of dirt.

Odd thing is...when I started the car up...the belt light came on after about 5 seconds of running. Any thoughts from the experts?? My feeling is the unit is just wet and needs to dry out....as the all the best were replaced at service.

Is this something to worry about?

its easy to take it off , dry it out in the house , clean the contacts and put it back on next day !!!

I dont own Adrian's book yet...is removal difficult. Seems the plug has a bit of a "lock" to it.

Do you think it would dry by itself?

i just fitted a new one , but cannot remember how !!!

it was easy or else i would remember it !!!

i think there is one allen headed bolt , and the plug has a metal catch that you press in before you pull it , like many of the other plugs

it is supposed to be waterproof , so if you got water in it , it will take a while for it to come out !!!

i'd take-off/put-on the plug a couple of times , and press in the sensor arm a few times ...............

see if you have heeling hands !!
