Default to the unknown cyclist - "Thanks a bunch"

I am feeling very angry!

This morning, I decided to wash the car before going to the PCGB stand at the car show. It was then I noticed my new rear-end damage.

I know how it happened too. We went to local reservior yesterday. Very busy, couldn't cherry pick a nice place to park...was shepherded onto the end of a row.

They rent bicycles to the visitors (thousands of them)...

There's clearly a pedal mark on my bumper, that off-balanced the rider whose handlebar went into the panel. There were tyre marks on the rrear wing too, which appear to have polished out.

What annoys me most is that they didn't have the decency to let me know.

and the second dent. Both, you will notice, will be very tricky to get out.

Do you think it might be worth approaching the bicycle-hire people about it?

John - I will be! I'm trying to think of a suitable response to the "parking at the owners risk" line that they are bound to give me!

..and I can't get there until next weekend either...

John - let's just say that the last few weeks have been rather testing. I'm quite a robust chap, but..(in NO particular order)

- separation from my partner of 10 years...
- Wales off-road (self-inflicted) damage to 964
- 1 week (to the day) later - cyclist damage to opposite end of car
- having to make people redundant last week

kinda takes its toll...

Like you said, time for the good stuff!

Rob,

Sorry to hear of your bad luck! They say that these things normally come in 3's, so you're over due for some good luck soon...!

I wonder if it will be cheaper to get a 2nd hand engine lid rather than trying to repair it?

Chin up!!

Andy

Ouch, that really is bad news Rob. Sorry to see it.

Andy could be onto something - a secondhand lid could be cheaper - try Porschapart.

Cheers

(seriously, I'm very sorry to hear of your bad luck - personally I'd be gutted!)

Yup, that would be enough to finish me off.

Rob, best to you and getting things sorted, it's just steel and paint...with a little "love" it'll look new again.

Our cars are magnets for dings! I have a couple. So hard to avoid them.

Thanks all

Phil - as it happens, Simon Butterworth was at the evnt today (in his GT3 RS) - he took a look and suggested that dentmaster (or similar) take a look at it first. He also thought my front bumper would be OK...

Rob, ring around for a used lid. If you find one already painted in the right colour it will be a cheap and easy DIY.

Wishing you all the best from Sweden
