964 Distributor Rebuilder
I’ve had a GR 964 C2 since Jan. ‘21, new to this forum.
I’m looking for someone to rebuild the dual distributor from my car.
I’m located in North Carolina, but would ship it.
Thanks, Jim

Out of curiosity, what is wrong with the distributor? Is it just the belt that needs replacing?
I ask b/c i'm about to go through the teardown of mine to replace the belt. Found several resources on here that gives step by step of the process.

Good question - where to get just the belt replaced?

Here is a thread I've been reading through. Not terribly difficult just time consuming. I'm no expert but I'm a hands on person and not too afraid to attempt a DIY.

I had Steve rebuild mine years ago. I was going to replace the belt myself but Steve said if you have it out of the car you might as well rebuild the bearings and a couple other things I can't recall. The bearing didn't seem too difficult, but just difficult enough the low cost of having him do it made it an easy decision for me.
I talked with Steve a little while ago and he is recommending Kurt at Marque Motors in Portland, OR for services going forward.

Hi James,
There are two proven sources of distributor repair in the US for the later distributors.
They are listed on this page:

Have a great day,

I like that cut little cig lighter voltmeter but I do note that they say the following:
"Also, be sure to unplug the voltmeter from the lighter socket when you park your car as it too will contribute to the run-down rate of your battery."
Is that what you do Andy, or is the draw low enough that you don't unplug it?
