Spoiler won't work

Like SO MANY others, my spoiler first did not work at all but after replacing the under the dash by the glove box control unit from a salvage yard and then the wiring harness back by the spoiler (microswitches) it goes up and stays up. The manual control does nothing. So now I found a place to order the relay from and I am waiting for that. Hopefully that will do it. I feel it is like working on a 1980's garage door opener.

Here's a DIY procedure for how to check the electrical components in spoiler system:

Thank you Tore. Now I have my homework to complete. By the way, where is 96461814200 the relay? Is it in the fusebox? Excuse me, I am not near the car right now.

if your car is a MY 90 or earlier should be under the front passenger seat on a left hand drive car. I dont think the 91 and up have the relay. 91 and ip cars might have the relay in the main fuse box

Thanks John. That would explain the not too correct PET diagram only listing that relay on 1990. I have a 1991 and I don't remember that relay under the seat while I was fixing that system. The main control unit for 1991 is under the dash by the glove box.
Thanks again John. I pulled up a diagram of he fuse box on the internet and it was not there either but tonight when I get home I plan to look at the fuse box on the car.

Nope not in fuse box in front or back. Maybe there isn’t one after 1990.

Correct, but you can verify this by carefully removing the plastic cover of the spoiler ECU and momentarily depressing the armature of one of the two relays.
One relay controls the up movement and the other controls the down movement of the spoiler. This will verify that the ECU has #30 power and that motor/drive unit functions.
If the motor/drive unit functions, you can carefully move the spoiler fully up or down manually. If you have #15 power (key on) and grounding inputs from the manual up/down switch,
the spoiler should move. If not, then the ECU is bad.
