Go to this Japanese BBS site to see wheels we don't easily get in USA:
http://garagestash.net/prosit/
Navigate to the GTII wheel for Porsche application.
The BBS GTII is the wheel commonly used on Porsche factory SuperCup cars, it is cast magnesium center with thin aluminum outer pans (too thin for street use) note it is around the same weight as the BBS RE forged aluminum one piece wheel which is more suitable for street use.

Thanks for your wheel weights.............
Now are you talking about a Land Rover D-90. How cool - you have a RSA too.
I HAVE an RSA and drive a D-90 for 7 years...........and finally sold my D-90 to a close friend that also has an RSA...........

Flagg, sorry if I caused confusion! The D-90s I mean in this case are the "Design 90" 16" wheels standard on the 964 until '92. These are widely understood to be the lightest weight wheel Porsche made for our cars, so I'm trying to find someone who has actually weighed the wheel or has the information.
Best wishes, Joe W.

These don't look the same as the ones in the Excellence article, but they are interesting, a loop on their website that is a little tricky to capture ... not much I can add to that one I guess. Best, Joe W.

OK Guys.
The SM RS Magnesium cups are only a tadge lighter than the standard alloy ones - perhaps 3 kilo's lighter each - they certainly don't feel very light!!
My beautiful Magnesium racing rims have now arrived.....
but the god forsaken things won't fit
The offsets I have been sold are all wrong -
I know Burgass has some of these on his 964 so clearly my supplier has made an error.
Hopefully this will soon be rectified though and these 18" wheels are VERY light - like 8kg a wheel!!!!
Sadly they are quite pricey though but if I get a set that fits it should be very nice!

The official factory statement on the Euro RS Magnesium wheels from the Service Information Technik on the Euro RS:
"The vehicle is fitted with lightweight cast magnesium alloy wheels, in Cup Design. The use onf magnesium, which has proved itself in racing and has a specific weight of only 1.74 kg/dm3, saves 10.6 kg of weight per vehicle."
It in not clear compared to what 1992 wheel 10.6 kg of weight is saved, the standard 16" wheels or the optional 17" wheels. The average saving I calculate at 2.65 kg or 5.83 pounds per wheel.

I have two sets of 8" and 9.5" 17" factory aluminum cup wheel sets. The rears are identical in weight and model number, but the front sets (8") have two slightly different model numbers. 01 at the end vs 00. With 225 MPSC mounted on both of them, the 00 weighs 44 lbs and the 01 weighs 39 lbs. The 39 lbs version is a full 5 lbs lighter than the heavier model. I believe the 01 model number was the original upgrade by Andial for the Carrera Cup race series. They are both factory rims, but were made in different years, made by different manufacturers (Porsche has used several), and have slightly different construction on the rear of the center portion.
