No idea what this is and it appears to have been modified a bit. 964 stuff??

Found it in the trunk when it cam back from the body shop.

Any work on the rear bumper? It kind of resembles the brackets that attach at the bottom center of rear bumper cover

No, it is not that bumper support. I just replaced those on mine (rust) - looks completely different than the black bendy bit in your (peteinjp) original post. The bumper supports are angular two piece jobs.
