Track tire rack prototype
I’ve been wanting to build a track day roof rack for some time and finally took a spin with my first prototype
Anyway I figure this is a good place to post my first pics for feedback
yeah I know I’m late to the game by setting it up for an air cooled gutter rail but it’s sitting on standard Thule cross bars.

That's a pretty cool design.

Looks sweet!
I bet it changes handling characteristics drastically?
The extra 120+ pounds over the rear would be a lot.
I would try to push them more forward if you even notice a negative impact.

I didn’t note much handling difference but I wasn’t flogging it either
i have no sunroof so maybe that helps with the cg
bumper came that that way since it’s an row car
I'm not too concerned by the handling with tires because the intent is to get to the track and then dismount it
but all the weight is on the rear bar so I may try to shift it ahead it to make the front bar do some of the work
