Indoor car cover group buy from Gert at Carnewal
Folks,
I reached out to Gert about a 964 and 993 cover group buy. Normally, car covers are Euro 245 plus 3% duty and 6 handling fee(approx $295-300 all in.) This is what the manufacturer came back with for us for 10 covers group buy order.
Two options and pricing:
1. Each car cover shipped individually from Europe to buyers' address in the US. Cost: euro 215 plus 3% duty plus $6 handling fee each.
2. Someone here spearheads this group buy and received all the car covers in US and then ships them out to buyers. Cost is: euro 170 plus 3% duty and $6 handling fee. There will be an additional cost sending it from the "organizer" in US to respective purchaser's hime addresses via USPS/Fedex/UPS.
Exchange rate today is floating around 1.1244 or 1.15 retail.
So:
1. approx USD$260-265 shipped directly from europe to buyers.
2. Approx USD$210-215 plus (USPS/UPS/Fedex) domestic shipping..
Again, min order is 10 to get these pricing discount and final cost subject to exchange rate fluctuation changes.

Thanks for doing this, Chao. I'm in for either, but I'm traveling too much nowadays to be an organizer. Would obviously prefer option 2.

Personally i like the factory indoor soft cover. I think its what, 200 or so?? I just got one for my 71, have one for the 964, RS has a different cover, covercraft maybe? Much heavier but very very soft.

1. Porsche part number on the tag
2. "964" printed at center of bottom front.
You can see details at Carnewal.com.
Please share if you can help us get these covers for $170.

Anyone have the p/n for the OEM cover to do some cost research?
Shipping is easy for option 2. If the 9 other buyers sent me prepaid shipping labels and of course covered the repacking cost, I could handle splitting them up and dropping them off at UPS. This is assuming he will accept 10 different payments. Then of course we run the risk of someone bailing after 9 of us have paid.

It would be nice if someone on here has a discounted UPS or FedEx rate that we could use for option #2.
I have a cover but would like a black one so I'm in if we can get the second option organized.

I believe these are the correct numbers for OEM:
OEM Part number without tail is 00004320201
OEM Part number with tail is 00004320202
Without looking too hard, cheapest I could find is $311 for either option with about $20 shipping Domestic.
