Decent Looking Stereo Option for Older Porsches

Yeah, the Clarion looks good, but the lack of orange lighting threw me off, here is my next swing at it:

It's readable in direct sunlight, has all the bells & whistles of a modern radio, has 20,000 colors and doesn't look super-flashy

I have an Alpine ida-x305s. It has, by far, the best iPhone/iPod simulation, with a scrolling ****, back button and screen. The chrome **** mimics the stainless surrounds on my 964 gauges. See below. They’re pretty old now and somewhat difficult to find. Try here: https://www.sonicelectronix.com/item...A-X305SBT.html
The Illumination color can be switched: either blue or red.

Three Wheelin'
The best option. Becker Indianapolis Pro 7950 (amber display). Has bluetooth, there's an adapter to control and display ipod music/podcasts (even iphone media with a lightning adapter), subwoofer pre-out & controls, speed-sensitive volume, all kinds of radio/FM/RDS controls, and 350 pages of other weird options in the manual. The navi is useless in the US (waze is much better than any navi hardware anyway), but the compass is handy.
I have an extra one that has some bluetooth issues if anybody wants to try one out

Track Day
If anyone is looking for a radio that doesn't look like a spaceship crashed into their dash, check out the Clarion M508. Looks decent IMHO, is a"boat radio" and has a nice white LCD screen that you can actually see in the sunlight, which was the main reason I got it. Hooked up SiriusXM to it and away we go! Also has a mic you can buy for your hands free phone, Pandora, BT, and other features. Media player only, no CDs. Retails for under $200.

I saw this one posted in the 911 Forums, unfortunately it doesn’t appear to be released here in the US as of yet but hopefully soon enough. If/when it gets released I’ll likely make the change as it looks period correct and has all the modern features.

Then I bought some water sticker adhesive promoter called "Mr Mark setter".
Then I applied a thin shot of matte clear just over the sticker part with an airbrush.

I went the Continental route and just got it installed last week. I'm really pleased with how well it matches with the rest of the dash. The harsh blue lighting on the HU that it replaced was driving me mad, especially at night. My kid took a potato photo from the backseat on the way home last night, that in spite of the blurriness I think really shows how well it matches up in color with the rest of the dash lights.
