So the busy work continues before engine carrier and motor mounts this weekend.
1. Heater shroud. The 01 part is no longer available so have to use the revised version and trim the tabs that attaches to it. A 10 min job turned to 20.
2. Replaced fuel filter. Pulled the fuel pump fuse while running the day before and let it it overnight. A few ounces came out. Removed the old filter and let it sit on my mower fuel tank to drain.
Car would stutter and stumble on start up before. Now better for sure. Filter is from '94 so maybe replacement in '95 or '96. Easy job.

I have a dumb question. When replacing the fuel filter it shouldn't matter if you have a full tank correct? The fuel hose attached to the filter is the last hose I need to replace post engine build along with fuel filter so i'm just wondering.

It does not matter what your fuel level is. Once the filter is installed, you can turn the key to position 2 and that primes the filter. I was not so patient and the motor cranked 2-3 seconds before running so not a big deal.

I think the gallons per hour these cars consume may not require fuel filter changes every 40-60K miles. My turbo getting avg of 15mpg is a maybe every 50-60K miles.
This 964 needs the filter swap because of old fuel turning to varnish clogging fuel delivery. If your 964 still pulls hard and feels OK light throttle, then no need.

Replaced belt sensor today and also one of the oil line worm clamps in the rear passenger wheel well. Only replacing those worm clamps as they "fall off" or you will end up with more than what you bargained with.
Buy these clamps at Home Depot for $.90/pc instead of $5 at NAPA.
