The 1989 964 C4 owners thread.
Just thought i’d start a thread highlighting the almighty People’s 959 aka the 89’ c4.
I know there is so much attention towards late model c2’s /RS america’s /RS’s. So i thought would come up with a thread to celebrate the first bastard 964 for 89 owners to unite. Besides the quirky spoiler control module under the deck lid, the lighter single mass flywheel, and no air bags... is there any other cool things about this model? feel free to post pictures of your beautiful 89’ 964 and tell us a little bit about the car if you choose. Previous 89’ Linen silver/linen that i owned but sold. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...a05c45b3c.jpeg My current 89’ in custom Grey-Black/black. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...9ceb21e5d.jpeg |

Yes, a thread for us! You'll never worry about driving a C4 in the snow. And they're really hard to do donuts in. Except in the snow. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...4904663c96.jpg |

Didn't the 89 964s have a manual adjustment for the headlights next to the ignition switch?

You called out the only differences I was aware of with '89. The only other aspect for us 89 owners is the need to sometimes select a 1990 when looking for parts just to make sure they don't show us parts for the impact bumper 89.

As for this manual adjustment switch by the ignition I'm gonna look when I get home. I don't think I've ever noticed that in my 8 9.

https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...5819d1c4ab.jpg My car came with a 993 engine already swapped but no paperwork (other than written on the owner's manual cover). No telling why they didn't record the date, reason, mileage or any other info. Ordinarily I'd advise against but it has turned out to be a great car. Went out for a country drive with some friends over the weekend, had a blast. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...8d129cd6ac.jpg GT Racing duck tail, grille by Al K https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...d577e5542c.jpg Complete documentation |
