Default Mobil 1 on sale + rebate

Just a heads up that NAPA has Mobil 1 15W50 on sale through 5/31 for $5.99/qt and that Mobil has a $12 rebate for every 5 quarts purchased. That's comes out to $3.59/qt.
V-Twin 20W50 is not on sale but it is eligible for the Mobil rebate. You can add the rebates for up to 4 rebates, redeem online and get a check in the mail in a couple of weeks. So stock up!

Rebates are limited to purchases made at Participating Retailer

Bought mine last week at wallyworld. Killer deal with the rebate.

I'm good for the next two oil changes.

Mobil 1 is not the oil it used to be, and no longer a good choice for our cars.

You have oil analysis to show us this? or a comparison? or proof from Mobil Oil developers? Or just going by what you've read on line. I have no experience in the mobil 1 game but I'm considering switching to Mobil 1 15/50 and just interested in where you came to your conclusion.

https://mobiloil.com/~/media/amer/us...pecs-guide.pdf

Specs from Mobil as of April 2019 show that the 15w50 should have 1200ppm Phosphorus and 1300ppm Zinc.
No clear info as to whether detergents have been changed (typically by reducing/eliminating Calcium) to avoid Low-Speed Pre-Ignition (a problem with DFI motors, but not with older designs).
I've never run Mobil 1 in my 964 so I don't have an oil analysis to compare, but perhaps someone does.

It's based on a Charles Navarro seminar I attended last fall. Driven DT50, Motul, Penn Grade, would be my choices, in that order. Ever wonder why you don't ever see of the ones I mention for $3.95 a quart? Not trying to be snarky, your car, do what you want.

Ok well I do read about Charles findings and I put some trust in to his words so maybe I'll just throw the Mobil 1 I got in to the ol' Toyota land cruiser and go with Brad Penn like I used to use. Currently running Valvoline VR1 20/50.

I'd use Mobil1 in a new car that didn't have metal to metal cam/rocker. New cars are designed for low ZDDP lubricants.
