What Race Series do You Enjoy?
Not a 964 topic, so if this needs to be moved, please do.
Other than the Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta, I haven't been to many races. I'd like to get out and travel some, to include out west, visiting race tracks and spectating. Historic race tracks being a plus.
What race series do you enjoy and suggest attending?
Thanks.

I really enjoy imsa, the weathertech sports car series (daytona, laguna sega, watkins glen). The wife and I did the Rolex 24 in Daytona this year, Laguna Sega last year and both trips were amazing. There is a new this year air-cooled series that I'm very interested in seeing live. I'm in MD and they're going to stop by VIR so I think we'll be attending that one in the fall.

It's been YEARS since I've been in person, but we used to do ALMS at Laguna Seca every year for about 5-6 years or so. It was always a blast. Obviously F1, though I can't say I've been to any in person.. yet.

VIR has a nice selection races this season, plus lots of room to roam around and watch the races from different vantage points. http://virnow.com/events/

Oh also been to a couple Nascar races at Sonoma before. The racing is okay, what's really great is the people watching, the coors light drinking, and the baggo (corn hole for those from the south) in the parking lot. Really just tailgating. Too bad it's always in the North Bay in the middle/end of June so it's like 110+ every time.

I also enjoy IMSA.....but I would add that the Monterey Historic Races at Laguna Seca every August are great fun and you see some amazing cars! Just going through the paddock is worth the price of admission.
