Default My new 964 joining modern GT cars

I had been looking for an honest 964 for a long time. Which is much harder than it sounds when a lot of sellers believe they have a #1 car which has a boat load of issues, but asking top dollar. I knew whatever car I found would cost $$$ to get it how I want anyway so I was pretty firm on what I was willing to buy.

Found this 89 and after 2 thorough PPIs of the car I was comfortable that it was the right car for what I wanted to do.

Color is Diamond Blue Metallic/Rubicon.

List of Work/Mods in the past 3 months I have owned it:

Leakdown/compression were great and not leaking any oil. I still did about $6K of engine work because I’m OCD and it’s age.

Deleted Cat- added test pipe
deleted secondary muffler-added G Pipe
SW Chip
Deleted stock airbox-went with cone
Momo Wheel
BFI-Shift ****
Fixed CCU
Radio install in Progress-going with Becker
Coco mats
New custom seatbelts on the way
Front RS carpet
Side Stripes
RS motor mounts
Front Strut bar

Custom LED headlights by 9Eleven, Lee does incredible work, but they are $$$$. All exterior lights changed to LED.

BBS LM wheels-thanks to Rstrada, no spacers and no rubbing

KW3 installed with Everything from the Elephant racing catalog, bump steer kit, all bushings etc
My entire Suspension set up was done by Provost Motorsports in NJ, they are a Pcar raceshop and are magicians with their setup.
It’s set to right around RS ride height.

The car car handles like my modern GT3 and RS. It also sounds great.

The factory Sport seats are incredible for being 30 years old and the seat heating is really good.

I learned a lot from reading the forum, which helped me with my build so thanks to all of you.

Here are are some crappy iPhone pics.

Very nice. Maybe you can bring it out to one of the local concours or C&C events would love to see it. We have a nice NNJR drive down to Bahr's Landing and the local sites coming up on May 5.

Nice collection BTW.

I owned a Gbody SC before and a 993, but never a 964.

My search was and still is for 964 Turbo 3.6, but I wanted a NA 964 to pass down to my son.

He has helped with most of the work. He removed and installed the steering wheel, shift ****, CCU, all exterior LEDs, and the previous owners “boomin system” from the 90s. He is still in the process of re-installing the Becker and cleaning up the wiring.

He also did the door pocket fix and installed the rennline handles.

Not bad for a 13yo, but he was has been in the garage with me since he was born. It also helps keep him off his phone and PlayStation, lol.

thanks, I’m in Hunterdon county so NNJR is my region, but the dates never work out for me. I always enjoy reading your bits of wisdom on the 964!

They are great! I got the integrated DRLs and turn signals. I like that they are plug and play and I used my stock trim ring. It does take a long time to get them built, but the quality is outstanding.

Lovely car.
question about the coco mats. Did you have the driver side custom cut? Or did you order them that way to clear the pedals.

Jared, when I ordered I gave them specific request about the driver side, thinking if I remove the aluminum pedals in the future it would sit flush. If I did it again I would ask them to cut straight across the top. I may still have it done. It took a long time for the mats....
