Wow Chris! your car is a museum piece!
thanks for your input and btw just got a confirmation from a Porsche dealer after decoding the VIN # that my car is a PROTOTYPE CARRERA CUP-USA LT. BEIL ANLAGE whatever that means according to the documents sent this morning with a matching engine number 62N81337.
Now I have to find out whose signature was that, lol and to make sure it won't get erased during the resto.

Unreal Kecho, beautiful car!
What a cool find, well worth restoring 590 in my opinion.

I owned two of these over the years. One Andial car, and one non Andial car. The cage pictured is not factory. The VIN should be a good place to start. If the car is still stock, you could check something as simple as where the battery cut off switch is located in the luggage compartment, or check the sway bars. They had 5 way adjustable front and 3 way adjustable rear. Also the steel hubs were replaced with aluminum versions. They also had a ABS bypass switch in the passenger department.
All of the hoods were aluminum with an aluminum hood rod prop to keep it open.
Just to be clear, the Andial converted cars had to be reconverted back to street configuration, which means none of them had the hood pins when they were sold to the public.
One way to see if the car was an Andial car, look into the engine bay and you can see where the cage was welded in and taken out.
Adrian Streather did a section on these in his Porsche 911 "Enthusiast Companion" book.
By the way, they drive great. I had a 993tt while I owned the Andial car. I swear the US Cup pulled as hard as the 993tt.
I am sorry I sold mine. Those were great cars.

It was determined up above based on the VIN that this is one of the spare cars that never got converted. Someone got ahold of it along the way and made a weak attempt at a replica.

I thought you guys would enjoy seeing this unique piece of "Porsche" advertising. It was sent out to prospective buyers interested in buying a car to race in the new/upcoming USA Carrera Cup race series. Its unfortunate that it never happened.

As others have said, cage is not factory and the euro cups at least had a plastic intake. There are many other subtle differences, some of which this car appears to have like the kill switch and relocated.
I am currently resorting my '92 euro cup and will post a thread with some pictures.

If someone knows who currently owns #44 (the last of the US white ones), could you PM me? I believe it went to the CT area when I sold it. I have some paperwork that might be appreciated by the current owner.

2swoosh,
I know the car and its a very cool car. I believe Dave at Brother to Brother in Medford is a local resource for you. Peter Dawes is an excellent Porsche guy as well and you cant go wrong with Peter he did much of the work on my 964 track car a few years ago. Best of luck and hopefully we will see the car at a local C&C in Mt Laurel or West Chester some time soon.
