Engine Drop & Cradle suggestions
I am preparing for an engine drop this fall/winter (southern hemisphere). I will drop the engine onto a hydraulic table. I am only planning on a new clutch, possible new rear oil seal, chain cover gasket, valve adjustment, and general tidy up including, refresh the tin, a new sound pad and anything I discover while the engine is out!
Hence the engine will only sit on the hydraulic table. Beyond the the templates John Mc has supplied me (which look fine, pics below) I am looking for any other suggestions for a table cradle to securely sit the engine on. So far I have:

Your setup should be fine. This is what I used. I have a ATV jack with a 2x2 plywood base. The engine will sit stably on the heat exchangers. Depending on where you put the table, you may need a second floor jack to support the weight of the transmission.

Thanks Rob. It is good to see others variation. Agree John's cradle will work well.
