Default headlight lenses markings for RHD

is there a way to tell from print on lenses what is for RHD or LHD? or which way do the lens cuts go for each...do the cuts send the light up when it goes to the curb or vice versa?
i also see an "R20" in the raised lettering by the E1 markings and an arrow to the right...this is a japan LHD car that i bought in england...i
will try to get a pic in here in a few minutes...

The lens is cut so that the horizon line is on the side with oncoming traffic.

Terrible picture, but here is my lhd car...

Rhd would have the cut facing the other direction.

Just to be clear on this, do you mean RH Drive or RH Dip? The lens you show is for a LH Dip (ie for the UK) The arrow shows the side where the ligjht beam is "kicked up" and mirrors the wedge pattern in the lens.

and goughary, thanks for the pic but i can't see which is what from that...
i am thinking the car i show came from england and has /had MOT so it must be the lens for there and i will have to change them to get TUV over here...
just checking 'cause i am trying to only make ONE trip to the TUV...yeah, right....probably not....

The lenses you have are for driving on the left side of the road...aka, Japan and uk. (And a couple others)

Mine are for driving on the right hand of the road...aka LHD

Definitely RHD lenses, and I think I recall the adjusting screws for the bucket are also different?
Or, can you just lens change and get the necessary beam shape?

Funny, this car here has the opposite problem (note angle on lens adjustment to counter the LHD lenses for RHD roads):

You can just buy a set of lenses and swap them out...

Not strictly true. The bulb position is different (rotated 15 degrees) to achieve the kick-up. Hence the different Pt Nos for LHD and RHD - it's not just a lens thing!. Been there , done that.

see link below

these are correct for LHD markets (USA and W Europe) - downward deflection 'triangle' points to the left, towards oncoming traffic, when lights are mounted on the car
