Default Hello to All! New 964 Owner

Just purchased a 1993 964 Cab out here in Chicago...decent shape, has some needs but overall very nice. Not sure, maybe one of you had owned this at one point!

Slate Grey Metallic
Classic Grey Full leather
Cup 1s
Factory Cellphone Console
Rear Seat Delete
K40 integrated fuzzbuster
93K miles

Looks like it has been to Florida and Alabama before it made it into my garage...

Anyway, it has some unique things on it, some I recognize, some I don't. Will be asking some noob questions, been out of the aircooled 911 game for about 6 years, last one was an 85 Targa...

See you around the forum,

John

Congrats John, great looking 964 in one of my favorite colors.

There are some very knowledgeable and helpful people on this forum to help with any of the needs.

Enjoy in good health.

Looking good, one of my favorite colors on a 964. Looking forward to your thoughts on how the 964 compares to the G-body once you get the top down and some miles under your belt. Welcome

Thanks everyone! Yeah still a little chilly (and snowy) to go cruising! The 40 minutes I drove it up to home in Antioch, IL Friday were pretty sweet! Now she needs a bath. 911Jetta, she pulls better than my 3.2 for sure, especially over 4500rpm. I'll say that so far there is a bit of difference in steering feel. The 3.2 felt more "alive" and you could really feel the road...however I had Elephant Racing bushings, turbo ties, etc. and it was DIALED. The 964 suspension needs some attention and I'll get to know it better as I drive it. I've had 30 or so cars since I was 16 (now sneaking up on 50) and I can already tell this may be one of the best.

On the Spring to do list:
Convert top to manual
Need to find a nice shifter boot...any suggestions would be awesome...
Replace the head unit with a new one (bought Clarion M508)
I've removed the old phone cradle and modified it for my iPhone (it's temporary...built a quick prototype out of foam and leather...but it works for now)
Looks like PO put a microphone in the cluster panel...may keep it.
Trying to decide what to do with the K40...red lights are in the cluster panel for that too
Needs some mats (Lloyds)
All suspension bushings, etc.
Maybe some lowering springs...and...and...

Some more pics...apologies for the messy and dark garage..still getting settled from the move. Anyone have any idea what the huge thing with the thick wire coming out of it is above my mirror on the windshield? I sense 90's technology...

Anyone have any idea what the heck this is?

Thanks guys! Still a little chilly and snowy to go cruising...will be there in April for sure!! Thought I sent this out but it looks like my replay didn't go through...sorry if this goes through twice...

Stuff to do before Spring:
New Radio (Clarion M508)
Convert top to manual
Lowering springs (H&R?)
Need new shift boot- Any suggestions?
Floor Mats
ET removal
K40- Maybe get rid of it?
New gauge faces--not sure where to get them yet
Have crude prototype of a phone holder where the original phone holder goes..works for now
And...and...and...

Here are a couple more pics...can anyone tell me what the giant block above my rearview is with the cable snaked around the window trim? 90's technology?

I love the leather dash and console, I rarely see a 964 optioned with these.

That black thing looks like its part of an old cellular phone which it appears your car was optioned with...
