I'm just tinkering with my project before any real disassembly happens... Looks like the connectors on both coil wires (cap side) are bad and I'd like to replace them. Is there an inexpensive route to do this? I'll buy a new set (or going COP ignition) when I restore it but just want to optimize it for now.

Yes, you can order just the coil wires. Call the guys at https://www.kingsbornewires.com/ and they will make them up for you.
You can also convert to 993 coils by asking them to make 964 length coil-to-distributor wires for you with a 993-type connector on the coil end and a 964-type connector on the distributor end.

The custom coil leads for the 993 coil conversion I had made were $50 shipped. That included the 964 coil lead length and fitting the other ends with the 993 connection for the 993 coils.
There's someone on eBay selling the exact wires for $130
