Default Brake question

Sorry if this is answered somewhere else. I promise my grease covered phone will prove I have searched.
1993!porsche 964c2.
i hooked up motiv bleeder. The system holds 15 pressure steady. I went around and bleed all 8 ports. Clean bubble free guild comes out.
but when I press the brake pedal with car off it feels good until about half way down when I feel a slight pop and the pedals goes to floor. When I turn car on and press pedal it goes straight to floor and stays there.
Any help would be appreciated. Do you have to bleed master cylinder itself? Wouldn’t the air come out at one of the calipers? How do you even get to master on this car?

Try bleeding again. Make sure you don't let the reservoir get low. Clamp off the overflow tube. Bleed the clutch slave also.

I have done all 8 again. No air and the new fluid is clearly coming through. I can’t get my arm to the Slave. Is it mandatory that I do that? Could that be causing my problem. Pedal still goes straight to floor when car is turned on ? Thanks for any help

I would bleed the master cylinder itself. I had changed my master cylinder and bled all of the calipers multiple times, the pedal still felt spongy. I then bled the master cylinder itself and it made a world of difference. Note, that the fluid comes out of the master bleed screw very slowly, so you have to do multiple cycles. If I remember correctly, we did about 30 cycles of opening/closing the bleed screw. I used the special instructions for the C2 in the factory workshop manual.

Thank you so much for the reply. I feel like bleeding the master is may issue. If you could just answer this for me I think I will be on my way: do you get to the master from under the car or thru driver wheel well? And there is a bleed screw on the actual master cylinder ? Thanks

You get to it from under the car. The bleed screw is on the master cylinder. See this thread for pictures and the special C2 steps.

Thanks for the steps. I really thought that would do it. I bled the master then went back and bled each wheel again. No help. If the car is off I can slowly push down brake and halfway you feel a pop and the pedal goes to the floor. It slowly comes back. When u turn the car on and push the pedal down it goes straight to floor and stays there. Any other ideas you could offer??

i believe one of the clutch cylinders is the issue. I have had the some problems some years ago with my c2.
change first the cylinder at the clutch pedal, there is another one at the gearbox a little more tricky to change.

If your pedal can go all the way to the floor, then you have a leak inside the master cylinder. You need to either have it rebuilt or replaced.

I’ve now replaced the master cylinder and bled the brakes. Pedal still goes to floor. With car off it will return up . White car on it goes to the floor and stays there. I don’t lose any pressure when I put the motiv on it. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

The only other place you could have air trapped now is within the ABS unit. You'll need to activate the pump and valves to clear it if you do.
