Default 964 n Me... Soggy early am coastal drive

Just got this project car out of the workshop this past week... still needs a bit more cosmetic fine tuning, but I think the effort has been worthwhile. This is the first 964 I have had with a Fabspeed chip and breathing/bypass goodies. Engine response is wonderful, so much midrange torque, and the lightweight interior and light wheels allow the car to tap dance over the road.

Couldn't push too hard this am due to the intermittent rain and damp conditions, so just stopped on the way to click a few pics and share with our RL bro's in other parts of the country right now living in frigid, salty, snowy conditions.

Beautiful car. Thanks for sharing! I have only had my car for around 4-5 months, but I truly fell in love with it yesterday while driving on a brisk 30˚ day with the sun out. It's just so connected.

Very nice pics and thanks for sharing. Can you share more on what has been done on the weight saving front? Also, most go with the Wong chip. Curious why you went with Fabspeed. I'm at a point where I've taken my car far enough with regards to suspension/brakes so turning my attention to weight and power.

Looks very nice, thanks for posting the great photos! I’m interested to know the details on the exhaust mods. Did you go with the Fabspeed headers? Enjoy the ride!

Wheels: 17x8 and 9.5 BW Motorsport/Kinesis (Japan made centers on Kinesis barrels), 17 lb front, 18.5 lb rear -- huge weight advantage over factory or rep Cup 1's. These are NLA I believe... bought this set several years ago, waiting for the right car to use them on.

https://rennlist.com/forums/parts-ma...-replicas.html

Weight reduction:
-- Recaro PP/BK mounts
-- RS door cards
-- RS carpet kit w rear seat/seat trim/rear deck delete
-- secondary heater bypass
-- Momo steering wheel (airbag delete)
-- audio system delete
-- center muffler/cat delete
-- frunk carpet/trim/inflatable spare delete

I agree, Wong chip is standard issue on 964 and early pre-OBD2 993's... I have them on a couple cars, they are good but on some cars, despite what Steve says, there remains a low idle/stalling problem. This Fabspeed setup came to me with the car, done by PO, a PCA member in the Southeast (now deceased, unfortunately). It includes chip, cat bypass, high flow airbox and center muffler bypass, tip (next time car is on lift I'll recheck see if this includes their headers as well). I would not have bought this Fabspeed kit on my own, since my intensive 997 GT3 tracking days, I have not trusted their stuff. Very complicated exhaust plumbing, iffy welds etc etc. They seem to have done this kit very well though, and in the past few years it seems that their quality assurance and engineering have improved. Perhaps this being an integrated system, the gains are more impressive. Tremendous midrange kick, throaty, bassy meaty sound up and down the range, no drone. I must say I am surprised and delighted how good it is.

Udo here are some interior and add'l pics... just basic black, no nonsense workplace/cockpit.

Love the color. The interior looks great too. Rain makes the pics even better with the wet pavement.

Love the pics! It’s like they painted the sky to match your car- perfect setting. This has really set my mind on silver being the ultimate 964 color.

What suspension so you have? RIde height etc looks spot on.

Pete
