I have a spread sheet that I put together totaling all of my expenditures. I am underwater on my cab, there is no such thing as a reasonable priced 964.

When i'm seeing cars like these being offered at the same price?

here is a 90 c4 just posted by terek on pelican and from the looks of the video the car is way nicer than the blue one on BAT
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-cars-sale/1019742-1990-porsche-911-964-c4-top-end-clutch-records-kwv3.html

here is a sweet colored mid night blue that bammer posted also on pelican for $49,000, again way nicer than the one on BAT
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...-metallic.html

so what is the deal? was the 89 BAT car just an anomily or an inside bid? or are these cars flying in price and by the time i'm ready i'll be paying $75,000 for a C2 coupe? lol

i can only speak for myself, but i always try to price the cars fairly and realistically while listing every blemish or issue they might have, in my opinion, private owners or big dealers list and sell their cars for more, even in worse condition is simply because they aren't as thourough in their descriptions and especially dealers don't "scrutinize" the car from an Enthusiast point of view and they have investors and low interest bank loans on the cars so they can just hold onto them till the right buyer willing to pay big $$ comes along- While private sellers a lot of times don't care much because really there is no recourse or reputation for them to overly worry about if they are vague in their ads and they might bend their morals or business ethics. Thats just my opinion & take on it- of course each situation is different.

$40k is the value of a rebuilt engine and tranny lately.

... then might as well pony up the extra $10-15k and let Gamroth have at it!

Interesting. What was the condition of your car when they received it and what did they do?

Hey Guys.

I'm the purchaser of the 89 964 on BAT. Pretty excited to get it - this will be my 2nd 89 964. I've regretted selling my first one since 2006, and I decided it was time to hop back in. Yeah - I realize I may have paid too much, but I wanted an 89 964 - just like the interior without airbags. I also liked the rare color, the sports seats, and that it was only owned by a single family in its life. 964 values are on the up. I figured I better get back in before they passed me by.

Yeah - the leakdown numbers don't look good for #2. I'm going to do a tune-up when I get it - plugs, plug wires, oil, valve adjustment, brake fluid. I'm a decent wrench, so I'll do it myself. We'll see what happens.
