Default SPORT SEATS?? Should I?

I have an '89 964 with the useless base stock electric seats. They kill my back after more than 5 hours of driving. My question for everyone - do you like your sport seats? I've been offered a pair of black 4-way electric OEM sport seats (heated) and want to be sure I'm making the right decision. As well...what does everyone think I should be paying? They're in very good shape.

This is not a photo of the actual seats - I stole this from another thread. They look identical to these, though.

For reference, these are my current stock seats.

If you don't want them I'll take them. They have become quite pricey like everything else. If they only made them in supple leather to work in my turbo.

I like the sport seats in my '90 C2, but they are definitely snug. My biggest complaint is that if your have broad shoulders/back, the bolsters can kinda push you forwards away from the seat back. I think they are still really comfortable, though.

Thanks,
Jon

I had them in my 930. At 6 4 210lb I fit perfectly in place. Once in. Any bigger it would be to tight.

You know the drill to protect the wider sides. Once you roll in and out sweetness.

For a DD no way.

But for a sunday car yes.

the 964 sport seats are great, perfect amount of bolster support imo.
had the supple leather seats in my 993 and hated them.
upgraded to 996 gt3 buckets and it was a huge improvement.
no desire to change seats in my 964 with sports yet, at all...

The RSA seats were about the most comfortable I have ever had. The cloth made a huge difference. SS are great but snug and you still slide a bit. Getting in and out is a challenge to do correctly and not damage the bolsters. $2k is a fair deal but for excellent condition and/or full leather be prepared to go to $2500. They come up on Pelican every month or so.

For me, on extra long drives, I put a car blanket on the seat and tilt the seat up at the front. Works great and no back issues. But at the track or AutoX you will LOVE the SS. If I could find a set in Cobalt blue to match my interior I would; but it is a Grail Quest.

Without actual pictures it is hard to say, These came several ways. The 4 way is basic the heat is an option not normally seen on 4 way if it has vinyl back around $2200- 2800 if it has leather back around $3250-3500 is a fair price +/- considering condition and if the heat works. The heat rarely works and is an expensive fix. It would be plug and play AFAIK.

These sport seats or regular seats. What you mention seems more like regular seats.

Thanks! Now the question becomes...does anyone want my original seats? I guess I'll make a marketplace ad...not sure what they're worth either.

New leather 2k so big deal is how worn is the seats are.

Ive seen them 1-2k depending on condition for a pair.

They are getting harder to find.

You will like them.

Here are some shots of the seats I am replacing. If anyone is interested I'll be accepting offers. Just want to hang onto them until the sport units arrive. As you can see they're decent but not perfect..."driver quality". 4 way power works as intended.
