Following the tour, the famous guards red 964 group photo was taken of all participants, then the vehicles were shipped home to their respective dealerships to be used as demos/showroom display models. This car was one of the participants, and was shipped back to it's dealership in Dallas in October of '89.

I'm guessing mine is the red one.

The car didn't actually become registered with it's first owner until 1992 with about 6,000 miles. It stayed with it's first owner in the Dallas area until 2003 when it came to Canada. It's option list includes: California emissions/cat converter, Blaupunkt Reno SQR46, cruise control, amplifier, sunroof, and European delivery.

Welcome! Ours may have been on the road together back in 1989, and perhaps on the boat when they were transported. The option codes are practically the same, and mine was just a bit earlier off the assembly line and in that Dealer trip. One being the dealer who made the trip. Unfortunately he had no photos from that visit.

I also became addicted to the Porsche brand early in life, buying a 77 911 S in my early 20’s. I’m 59 now and there have been only a few years since when I didnt have one of these fine machines in my garage. I sure wish I still had that 77. Your 964 is so nice. Enjoy it to the fullest and NEVER sell it.

BTW, why were so few 964’s sold in 89?

Very cool! I also got my 964 when I was younger back in 2013 when I was 24!
Love what you've done so far... you've also inspired me now to drop my suspension a bit lower. Like you set up! Great score on the sport seats!

Due for an update. Installed a secondary muffler bypass this weekend (G pipe) from FVD/brombacher/dansk. Unable to drive the car due to weather, but startup sound and first impressions are awesome. Has a muscle car sound now....but we'll see how it is under load in the spring. It also saves like 20 lbs from the rear of the car which is an added bonus.

The car is coming along nicely. Sport seats make a big difference. Wait until you hear the G-pipe open up and roar at 4,000+

Thanks guys! Just a couple months left until the Canadian winter disappears and the car comes out of hiding...counting down the days.

The G-pipe was one of my favorite modifications on my 964.

Seeing your clear indicators has me thinking about getting a set and smoking them as another poster has done here.

First time I drove my car hard after installing the G pipe, my face lit up in excitement. I agree that it really comes alive above 4k.
