Default Fabspeed catalyst after 9500 miles

Dear all,

without too much subjectivity I would like to show you some facts concerning my fabspeed product.

This is what a Fabspeed cat looks after just 9500 miles.
Note the rust as well as the cracked insert.

On a side note, we are running HJS cats in our E36 and E30 M3 track cars for more than a decade, without any issues.
Also note that the optical appearance of the insert shown by fabspeed does not conform with the insert utilized in my catalyst converter.

What do you think about it?
Note that the car never saw any salt.
I wonder what I will or maybe will not find on the flange of the cat itself...

My Fabspeed cat only lasted about 2 weeks - when I took it off and replaced with the original factory unit.
I hated what it did to my low end torque.

This isn't good. I wonder what can cause a cracked catalytic element. Vibration or a hard hit?

Dear all!
In all honesty, this insert doesn’t look like a HJS element at all.
Until I cut it apart and have it checked out by HJS itself I will keep rather quiet.
Cracks like that can be caused due to inferior cat quality.
By the way, I have a written statement from fabspeed that this would indeed be a genuine HJS product.
This might absolutely be the way although I am missing the rolled appearance of it.

To mee it seems that the cat couldn’t withstand the heat.
