On the ones I've seen they usually use a 993 10ET65 w/ 21mm spacer for ET44, thes have a couple more mm backspace than even a 9ET55, The tire of course usually protrudes even further(a 275 more so than a 255). So yes a flattened oil line is wanted.

Thank you for the reply. I would run a 255 or 265, nothing bigger, and a street tire, not an R-compound.

I don’t want to flatten the oil line if I can avoid it. Just because the car did not come this way.

Is there any negative to flattening it? How much does it really need...?

As I recall the C2 and RS run “unflattened” oil feed/return pipes.
I'm running 9.5s but only see a 5 mm spacer...

All of this rim size and spacer information is interesting.

My car came with huge (plump) tires, so I better check how close the tires are to the oil line...

Fronts are 8s rolling on 235/45s (no spacer)
Rears are 9.5s rolling on 275/40s (with a 5 mm spacer)

I'm sure everything is fine, but given the rim size and spacer discussion, does any one know which reproduction rims these are?
