Default 964 Turbo brakes vs stock C2 brakes

Have an opportunity to pick up a set up 964 Turbo brakes front and rear with rotors for $1,000. Would it be worth it to swap them out on my 1990 C2 which are original? I’ve read a bunch and to be honest I’ve gotten easily confused with all the different options avail be to upgrade my stock C2’s. The only thing I know for sure that is an upgrade is the rears are 4 piston on the Turbo ones

Thanks,

Joe

The 964 rears are 30/34 like the 964RS, but the t uses a 299x28mm rotor vs the 964 & 964RS 299x24mm rotor, From memory(can't recall what the issue is, probably rotor o/s) the t rear rotor doesn't just work on a n/b, the corollary to that is the t rear caliper won't work either.

The front is a bolt on, especially nice if 993 aluminum wheel carriers are used(but these don't work w/ the 964t rotors) still nice w/ the 964t steel wheel carriers & 964t rotors, works w/ stock 964 steel wheel carriers & 964t rotors but then you need a caliper adaptor.

For the back you will need 993 rear calipers on either stock 964 rear rotors or w/ 951M03 rear rotors(this is what 964RS used)

unless you have a C4 you will also want to use 993 m/c & booster.

This mod is 2 edged, you do gain some thermal headroom and brake torque, but it's all in the front, bias becomes even more front than a stock 964

Thanks Bill. You are the best. Sounds like I’m going to pass on them as I don’t think the addditional work to install is worth it.
