a body hammer and a very gentle and patient touch

Here's a comparison of the factory 964 Cup 17" set up(There was also a similar 18" setup) vs Spyrex's, These should be considered to be max for a n/b 964

The only other thing I'd add is that 245/35 also can be fitted in front and you'd want 285/30 x18 rear w/ those. I've never seen 285/30 on the back of these cars though so it may not be doable.
also given how good modern tires are 225/40 on the above 8.5 and 265/35 on the above 10s, would provide a nice decrease in inertial and gearing costs and be easier to fit. From my own experience track times will likely be as good or better, An increase front 8 to 8.5 provides a really nice increase in turn in even w/ the same tire

Your last point is an interesting one. I know one track buddy who prefers a slightly narrower tire setup as he can slide the car easier and well, he's VERY fast :-)
My car has amazing turn in, and really great front grip, to the point the front end is near better than the rear. Not in an over steer sort of way, but agility, hard to describe unless you drive. Next time out I'm going to give it a bit more front roll resistance w/ a bar adjustment. and tweak settings on shocks in rear just a tick.

I'd say balance wise, 235 / 275 is good, and I like the NT01. I may try the RE71R next, and need to look at mounted sizes on 235/275 and 225/265. IIRC, the RE71R runs a bit big front he GT4 guys feedback. And I've got zero extra room and feel alignment is spot on. It's a very fast tire, my fast buddies say faster than NT01.

Yeh, I use NT01 235/40 & 275/35 on 8.5 & 19x18 on mine too, the 8.5 is where the better turn in comes from as I use 225/40 on 8.5 and and get the same goo turn in. But I also have a set of RE71 225/40 & 265/35, They give up nothing compared to the NT01s and being shorter & lighter provide better acceleration
Here's a comparison between the NT 01 & RE71 on my 993, note the torque gains from the smaller tires, ~17.5 lb-ft of extra torque is available across the board for acceleration. You'd have to spend big bucks on motor or gearing to get those results

Ideally 245/35 & 285/30 would be used, a couple of more ambitious friends use the sizes in R7 w/ outstanding results

So the scariest thing for me, and the only thing that’s preventing me from running some MY02’s, is the “flattened” oil line.

How much flattening are we talking about? Any photos of the before + after?

For 10" et65 most people run H&R 21mm spacers for a final et44. You don't need to flatten the oil line for that setup.

Really? That’s awesome. Very helpful.

I've been very happy with mine.
Can you share the tire sizes you're using. Your car looks great!
