Default Dreaded rear wiper arm break - DIY

Dreaded rear wiper arm break - DIY. Saving dollars on a new wiper arm that is very expensive. And on top of that I never use it...

How much weight saving would a rear wiper delete result in?

About 5 pounds. I just did it this weekend. Wiper doesn't weight much but the motor and hardware that go with it are pretty beefy.
