[QUOTE=cobalt;15408982]Honestly unless you're going all out to build a high revving ITB engine which gets costly, the 3.8 isn't enough gain for the money spent to do right. There are many other things you can spend the money on and get equal gains if not more.

I wouldn't do an aluminum hood they are pricey and ding too easily. I had one on a previous 911 and I hated it.

Thank you for your advice Anthony, i will check all emgine alternatives and might get back to you for your opinion, what is clear, i want to stay normally aspirated and torque from low revs.
in the mean time, the 3.6 got bigger injectors and ecu from TE systems installed by sharkwerks and fabspeed exhaust but that is only provisory..

and i apreciate your opinion on the aluminium hood, i wanted to save weight and was tempted to stay period correct rather than carbon fiber, i was also reluctant to drill the original hood for the fasteners, i will rethink

cheers

Luc.

As long as we're not talking a concours 5k mile example, that seems like a pretty reasonable cost, and way less than I had imagined. Looking forward to hopefully seeing a build thread shortly with progress posts.

Well...for 5 years this car was soooo good - needed almost nothing....but last spring was a case split rebuild ('91 Turbo now with 100,000 miles) and new front rotors/pads then a 3,000 mile road trip to Rennsport this past September - winter project will be investigating the rear differential (rebuilding or replacing I assume), suspension refresh, rear rotors/pads and replace brake piston seals all around....maybe.

This winter I am going to work on the interior, I bought a set of 964 sport seats which need to get recovered. I also will be replacing the shift ****/boot and the e-brake handle. Other than that not much.

I need to finally fix the reverse lights- the wires that plug into the switch failed on me- should be fun!
Then I'd like to replace my speakers, it has been so long since I had a nice sound (exhaust makes up for it though!)
Oil change, transmission oil change and just drive it when I can!

Mines short this winter, new roll hoop targa seal (arrives tomorrow) and I want to find a CD-1 which was what the car was originally ordered with.

Other than that just an oil change and driving it.

Converting my controls arms to narrow body, getting new wheels, decklid shocks, coilovers, Autoflex color change, Rennline pedals, floor board and race mats, and a bunch of interior upgrades. Of course, I just got the car so I am highly motivated this winter. Oh, also converting seats back to stock (GT3 seats at the moment) and I just removed the stainless DAS roll bar. Refreshing some trim pieces and going to install a new windshield as mine is pretty pitted. Oh, and new headlights. Geez, maybe I won't get all of this done over the winter. This list just keeps on growing. May next 6-12 months.
