Default Fake hood badge?

Can someone identify if this is a fake hood badge?

I got this and thought it was the correct replacement for a 964. Turns out the bars are orange painted rather than red, seethrough glass. I thought the original orange ones were actually a lot more expensive, but think this may be a reproduction. Thoughts before I contact the seller? pictures and box/part number below.

The orange bars are for the earlier cars. They went red at the end of the 70's...

If it has the Porsche part number on back, then it should be an oem part. Or rather - the new "old version" from Porsche. You could use that or swap it for the later red bar version. I prefer the orange bars and have a badge like that on my hood.

That's amazing, New old stock , I love the old Porsche+Audi box...very cool and very hard to find. If you don't want it you should trade it.

Nice badge, but I don’t think it’s Nos. I think it’s an early reproduction from Stoddard made in the eighties.

Chinese reproduction. I can't believe I dropped this one to take pictures and damaged it. Oh well.

This is what a factory badge looks like. Even the new ones from Porsche are still made like this.

The 964 badges through the end of 1994 had the gold lettering Porsche in 95 they switched to black lettering.

Appreciate the photo sacrifice Cobalt! Nice video too

My gut says it's reproduction - no stamped part number was my first clue before even posting. Might have just made it into an old box.

I'll be contacting the seller to return. Thanks all.

That's a Stoddard part number on the box indicating that it is a repro made for Stoddard Imported Cars.
