Default Fuel/oil goo accumulation on K-jet MAF bowl

What do we opine this fuel/oil residue accumulation on the "bowl" of the air flow meter is caused by? Maybe it's not so visible in the pic - the black bottom part of the meter casing is oily/grimy. The main gasket between top and bottom? An o-ring somewhere?

In here to do a new alternator and vac lines and injectors and plugs and valve adjust - would love to take care of this while she's apart...

It also is unknown to me why some of the screws holding the top and bottom together are sprung and some are not, maybe I need to fix something there, or just tighten them up?

You may want to ask this question in the 964 turbo forum. Most 964's don't have this setup.
