Default Accent color for Guards Red

Figured I’d ask you 964 guys being a past 964 owner myself and knowing you guys like to hotrod a bit more then the 993 group. Getting ready to install a set of Turbo S Ducts on my 993. Want to do something different and paint them a contrasting color. Here’s a quick photoshop. Probably won’t do the mirrors right away.

To me, the slate grey used is a little too dark. What do you guys think? What color should I paint these? Body color or contrast? Some thoughts on color:

-Agate Grey (accent color used on the 991 Carrera T)
-steel grey (accent used on special edition Vesuvius 993)
-Dove Grey (always loked this color)
-GT Silver
-Chalk

Open to anything. Opinions appreciated!

I tend to like mirrors to simply blend in. Hard to make them look great, so I'd vote body color. Black could be an option as it matches the black metal trim and window rubber. Those ducts in a neutral color do look good in the mockup to my eye. What really caught my eye was the grin on the beetle guy next to your car

Having the ducts match the wheels would look pretty sharp, IMO. What about in hyper silver? Also echo fasterlaster's comments on the mirrors in either body color or black.

IMO black or body color are the only 2 options that will look good with red. Purely my opinion.

How about a bumperette delete and color match the bumperettes and the ducts to the lenses on the front. Would look very clean. Paint the bumperettes with a translucent paint and then paint the ducts white and layer the translucent paint over on those.

This is a pretty cool idea and I think it would look great if you could get it all to match. I am thinking best bet would be to swab out the side lenses for clear as well so that at least all the lenses are clear to start and will match. Brake duct might be slightly off.

Or.... go with clear turn and bumperette lenses and tint them a bit to match the gray brake duct and mirrors then I think it needs at least a matching gray strip down the sides. And / or maybe a couple of off set narrow stripes over the hood, roof and trunk, also in matching gray.

Good luck and please post photos.

I would add some spacers and lower it a tad for a more alpha stance

My suggestion is a yellow accent with an optional big golden yellow double arching M decal on the hood and doors.

black ducts, bumperette delete. gold wheels. and a drop and some spacers, or a different set of wheels. 993+bbs LM = sex. could do black mirrors but I think keeping them body color works unless you were to swap the stock mirrors for something else.

If you want to go a bit exotic, Celeste blue / sea green / teal go very nicely with red, as does beige/ sand.

The car is def lower then it looks in this pic. Must be an odd angle. Check the pic in my Avatar. Spacers are an interesting suggestion....
