Lowering help

Hi guys, I'm having trouble finding the most economical way to drop the car down a bit. It sits far too high in the rear. The front isn't bad.
I've attached some old pictures that show some of my suspension. If more detailed photos are required I can do that tomorrow no problem.

Both front and rear struts are bilstein, unsure of model or anything as the were on the car when I Got it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks!

Current ride height. Id say it needs to come down about an inch or bit more

Could these work?

D, Looking at your latest picture on your main running thread the back doesnt look too bad. Some rake. I suggest you start with measuring the height front and rear. Report back.

too much rake.
rear shocks look older, but hard to say, not factory tho, rear springs look factory
front shocks newer, front springs not factory
if it were mine i'd want a matched set of shocks and springs
At a minimum a set of springs. H&R, Eibach, whatever. If you don't know the age of the shocks... you're already in there ....

Hey mate, it looks different from different angles I think so I always try to get the best angle in photos! I'll get some measurements today so we know the starting point I guess. Parked on flat ground I can fit 3 fingers between the arch and tyre.

Hi spyrex, the rear shocks are bilstein also but we will never know if they were replaced at the same time. The rear springs look standard though I think..
So can you pretty much fit any springs in? I know it makes sense to probably start fresh but they look pretty good.

I’m not sure whether you have the manual, but here are the measuring points:

Yes got that sussed out, I remembered that from where you were showing to use an adjustable magnet! I'm quite keen to see where the car actually sits. I've only ever seen 1 other 964 up close before.

Had a look and realised I'll have to take shark fins and rockers back off to get measurements.
I'll have to do it another day as have too much to do around the house :crying:

you can do it with the shark fins on. I made a measuring tool from a 10mm thick piece of plate steel and a cutoff piece of an old tie rod adjuster and part of the threaded portion. Tack welded the cut off tie rod piece vertically then just screwed the threaded piece in. Tip it sideways slide under car stand it up screw piece out till it touch correct spot slide it back out then measure from the plate to the top of screw add 10mm exact measurement.

Thanks John, I'll have another look in the week when I get time. I'm thinking about just ordering those springs and seeing what happens!
