Best Routes into Monterey (Rennsport)
Hey guys-
So we have a group caravaning to Rennsport from Denver, CO. For sure we have a 964T, and a 930 and likely 1 or 2 964s and a GT3. So anyway we’re looking for route recommendations into Monterey. We are avoiding interstates when possible and sticking to state highways/scenic roads. We’ll be starting in either Las Vegas or Tonopah, NV the night before. Partly depends of distances/drive times. Of course we want to avoid heavy rush hours, too. We’ll be leaving in early morning to take advantage of cooler temps.
Any tips and route recommendations appreciated.
Thanks

Thanks for the good info guys. We've pretty much decided we'll be starting Day 3 in Tonopah, NV. Will either go through Yosemite, provided it's open, or up to Sonora Pass. I guess you have to just wind your way down to Monterrey from that area up there... if there are roads/routes to avoid I'd love to hear.

Caravan is set. 1991 964 Turbo, 1979 930, 1990/91 964 C2. Great route planned - Day 3 over Sonora Pass and wind our way into Monterrey.
I'll be in the Coral (Green lot) - the black 964T w Colorado plates. Not sure if it will be clean or freshly road-tripped :-) Hope to see some of you guys there.
