Default she stalled on the side of the road

so i left the house and the motor missed/coughed kind of and didn't think much of it and did it a bit more but then ran fine, but only for 3-4 minutes, then at a stop sign stalled and would start again but wouldn't take any throttle... i could feather it up but it wouldn't run....i started it a few times but the same result....ok, i left her and went home, had only gotten a coupe kliks down the road...came back after a couple hours thinking it might be ok when cold or just had a rest... started her up and drove home no problem...now she starts and runs fine but i don''t trust her....women!...and obviously there is a problem in there but where do i start...fuel filter? bad gas? don't think it is this as i just got gas last week...i have only had the car a couple months and the wiring in the pic has me wondering, doesn't look factory, and when i disconnect it while running there is no change...i know this is not much to go on , but, any ideas? and as always, tia, kk

I had this recurring problem recently where on occasion as I was cruising along the tachometer needle would just drop and the engine wouldn’t restart. It was really frustrating because as soon as I get back to it with the mechanic everything was working fine. In the end we found that the crank sensor despite being recently replaced was causing the problem. The next time this happens if it happens while you’re moving keep the car in gear and take a look at the tachometer. If there’s no reading on the tachometer is quite likely the cranks sensor.

DME relay is always the first place to look for intermittent misfires. Keep an extra in the glovebox.

DME relay. I had the same issue and it turned out to be my whole fuse panel. Woof.

When mine did that it turned out that the "New" Bosch coils were defective, Ran ok till hot than ...tow truck..ran fine when cooled off, converted to the 993 coil pack and been fine since (and I already had the solid state DME Relay))

I had the coil issue as well! New Bosch went in and one failed within a few months. I’ll be going to the 993 coils as well.

do fuel filters ever clog? she has been sparingly driven for the last 3 years, like maybe 1000 kms in that time, but just added new fuel a month ago, maybe 3/4 tank...

My leaked before it clogged- it was probably original with 60,000 miles on it.

Check the ignition wires with the engine running using a timing light.
