in the pic I was commenting on, it didn’t look like the car had a roll cage...based on the roof structure damage. I’ve seen too many people who think their street cars can handle the track end up not walking away from barrel rolls and all kinds of other offs. Sure you can add lots of safety equipment and mods to a street car to make it great on the track, or you could just rent a real race car or better yet, buy a cup car.

???? The track is great place to drive these cars as they were designed and far safer and smarter than speeding on US streets. I can't opine on the cause of the accident shown however more times than not it is lack of drivers skill combined with the result of an off tack excursion and a driver not knowing what to do. Usually they make the mistake of trying to fight the car back on track causing far worse damage. Climbing behind the wheel of a cup car with limited skills would only make it potentially worse as speeds would be far faster.
I have tracked 964's for over 15 years and they are a lot of fun at speed requiring skills that most drivers today no longer learn as the nannies are always there correcting their mistakes.
On another note. I have seen head on collisions at 70 mph between a 997 and a 993 (essentially the same tub as a 964) both cars were badly totaled but what I saw was similar damage to both cars and both drivers lived with similar injuries. I can also show you pictures of full blown caged race cars that you would ?? how anyone survived.
IMO everyone should spend some time being instructed on track to learn how to drive properly before they are unleashed on the streets.

I remember this... I was actually out in front of him on the front straight after the bridge... that's when I glanced in my rear view mirror and just saw him plow head on to the tire wall hard (where we usually track out at T17) and he bounced up in the air like a basketball and then ended up flipping over & then back out onto the middle there. He was hauling hot as he was exiting T17.... as soon as I saw that I was screaming in my helmet like "whoooaaaa fffaaaaakkk". What a sad sight. And yeah glad he was okay.... banged up but he gave us the thumbs up while he was getting loaded into the ambulance.

Never watched the show, but had to see what you were talking about. I might have the check out the series if there’s enough 964 content.
