If you are running a track orientated set up I would suggest running 17's on the road with a higher profile tyre and 18's on the track. The 18's will give you more track orientated tyre options and the more complient higher profile tyres on the 17's will help soften the ride on the road. I mistakenly thought that the larger caliper size of the big reds on the front of my car would prevent running a 17" trye option. This is only really relevant if you are running a particularly stiff spring damper set up.

18's should run 36/44 psi. If you run less the ride actually becomes more harsh. I have no regrets with my fikse's although would like some E88's. Still waiting on my track set for the WB. At 16 and 19 pounds for 8 & 10's they don't feel heavy at all I am assuming the E88's weigh a little less.

I wouldn't sell the tail one day you will regret it and they make great garage wall art.

that Joey Seely’s car of emotion engineering. The car is a Gbody 911 Carrera. So the offsets are much lower than your typical 964 narrowbody. I dont know the spec he is running. But yes his car is beautifully set up.

I didn't find the post, but I think I saw this car in another thread related to GT3 exhaust install. Perhaps worth a search on that. It is a nice setup.

Man.... I’m still car shopping...was pretty stuck on the 964 with the 3.6...now have to start considering other options, lol. Wonder if it’s worth the trade off in displacement and different suspension in order to get that “look”

Thanks for the support guys. I have set up quite a few 964s in different combinations of 17s and 18s ranging from conservative to aggressive fitment. If you need some help just let me know! Fun fact, we can do a 3" lip in the rear of a 964 with a 17", it looks pretty badass, hopefully Chip from SC will chime in on his custom set up on his 964.

I run 3" Rear lips on 18's. Rotiform has a couple of styles you can run 3 1/2".

Awesome. I was referring more specifically to BBS Motorsport wheels, more specifically the E88 which usually run 2 or 2.5” out back depending on the offset.
