Hi All,

Picking up a 964 on Saturday, it looks to still have an original tape playing stereo. Does anyone know of a UK stockist for these? Not keen on paying the £800+ I was quoted for the 'Porsche classic radio'!

Thanks!

https://www.bergvillfx.com/index.php...7412ub-or.html

they sell a few different units as well as all the connectors to make it plug and play for OEM applications.

Currently traveling, but will post a pic when I get back. The diameter of the **** is nearly identical, however when pushed fully on, it sits low relative to the radio surface compared with the original **** or climate control *****.

Here's the porsche classic radio **** on the continental - not super deep but otherwise fits well and looks nicer than the chrome, IMO.

Have you tried Bluetooth streaming from an Iphone? Bergville seems to suggest it isnt that stable on the Continental

Thanks

I hardly ever listen to the FM radio on mine, always using the Bluetooth. Works great. Just wish the stereo had a little
more power for when the top is down.

I have one. Use BlueTooth streaming exclusively, works quite well.

Also popped in new speakers in teh front/rear, seems to be okay so far. Lacking a bit of bass, so going to get a small sub installed, and that should take care of it.

Default Continental microphone problem.

Hi, I just installed the Continental unit in my 993. All went well until I tried to use the mic during a phone call. The individual I was calling could not hear me even though I could hear them. I pulled the unit to make sure the pins were making good contact and the pin block was secure in place. I Made sure the unit was set up for the external mic. Tried it again, no luck.
Has anyone had this problem?

It's shallow so there was more room for the wiring behind it. Probably the best improvement you can make to a 964 for $271.

I've had good luck using the built-in mic on the Continental. Have you tried that?

Default External mic not eorking

Thanks for your input. Yes the internal mic works. Reason I installed the external mic was based on the recommendation made by ToreB, who I bought the unit from. I will be removing the mic and checking for defaults.

Default Simply was a loose pin connector.

Turns out one of the two block pin connectors was slightly loose. I just pushed in the loose wire, held it in place, and plugged it back in. Mic now works.

I swapped out my Blaupunkt Toronto 420bt for the Continental TR7412UB-OR last weekend and am very happy, it looks way better and the bluetooth works very well, I mounted the external mic on my clamshell. I was also happy to find out the plugs were a direct swap from the Blaupunkt.

My car also has the MB Quart door speakers so I replaced my rear Blaupunkt 4x6's with the MB Quart FKB146 and I must say, the sound quality is greatly improved. Obviously nothing spectacular but way better than my previous setup.
