Default Modification Regrets?

There is always some "Best Modification" or "Best Upgrade" thread, but what about the worst modification or I'm sorry mods..........?

Let's share some of your personal experience and stories.

Updating the brake reservoir cap to the 993 part is the top of my pointless mod list. Deleting the rear heater fan is a close second if you ever take a road trip in Winter. Based on my experience the LWF is a marginal mod for road driven cars if it leads to stalling. Changing to an after market ECU requires more development than many expect. One thing I will never do is convert my C4 to 2wd. Can’t see the point of changing a great real world driving platform.

I forgot one I recently reversed. Body colour under sills are pointless unless you only drive on clean roads. Mine were rubbish after a road trip.

I was less than impressed with my "cold air intake". But I got it second hand for very cheap, so no big loss.

G Pipe. I did not like the sound. Fortunately it was easily reversible.

Excellent condition factory sport seats with less than 20000 miles on them. Paid dearly for them- and they look absolutely perfect in the 964- but it turns out that I don’t fit them well due to my height. I kinda knew this would be the case because the original seats were small for me but wishful thinking got the better of me.

The 964 cap requires an overflow pipe that is vented behind the front wheel. It's good because the excess brake fluid is directed away from paint. It's only downside is that the overflow pipe needs to be clamped off if you are pressurising the system for a bleed. The 993 cap doesn't need the vent but the risk if it blows is that fluid is trapped in the frunk eating your paint.

Strange. I'm a tall unit and the sports seats in my Turbo 3.6 were the best seats I have ever had.

I regret not opting for a performance exhaust system with heat boxes and going with headers only. Especially after moving to NZ and experiencing the winter there. I now have a Fabspeed system with heat boxes waiting to be installed so looking forward to warm toes again in winter.

Had a F**speed full RSR exhaust on my 964 RSA that droned me out. Had it on the car less than a week.
