Default Can PDR fix this ?

This dent was from the previous owner, don't remember the story behind it. The paint is not broken or scratched but as you can see its on the curved rear quarter. The engine is out of the car so access to the back of the panel would be ideal. Has anyone had success w/PDR on curved panels or is this a body shop/paint episode ?

The main issue will be the thickness of the metal compared to modern cars, it will make the job a bit harder but nothing a good PDR guy can’t successfully handle. Make sure you find a good PDR shop and you won’t be able to tell it was ever there.

I've had luck with PDR in all sorts of weird situations. here's my view: find the best PDR guy you can. It's no loss really, because, let's say its not perfect, or paint cracks, or whatever... you still will want to get it repaired anyway. Point being, it won't be worse, and there isa chance they can make it good. However, that's a pretty decent dent... but it's amazing what these guys can do. I just had a guy work on mine pulling about 5 issues out, some small, 1 was a larger crease, they are gone.

I agree with LPMM and Spyerx, I would definitely give it a shot. A good PDR guy is key.

On the plus side it doesn’t look like there are any sharp creases so they may get that out without any evidence. Definitely post back.

Looking for a true artisan. Someone that won't even attempt if he thinks it can't be done successfully. What I'd like to avoid is an attempt w/less than satisfactory results (ie: paint cracking). Then off to the body shop for another $$$$. I'll see who the pros use (as well as car nut friends) & if the same name keeps popping up, then that's "the guy". The search begins....

Did this yesterday in my E46 M3 coming in too hot into my garage. Having pdr done this week with Tim Olsen's guy ... PPF saved the paint so I'm good there! Big believer in doing whole car. Will post after photos.

http://www.dentmanj.com/

Jay McBain is an artist, he worked magic on my Saab 9-3 (RIP) and several times with my 964. I have described it as the best consumer experience I've ever had. Understand you are in CT, he travels 25 miles radius of Gloucester MA. If you don't have a highly recommended person logically, possible you could contact him and work something out (extra fee or you traveling). You have a bigger..ah.."issue" to address so anyone you go to will be a few dollars, might as well get the best. IMO, well worth the inquiry as he is very accomplished. Others have endorsed his work on Rennlist. He was the in-house Dent Wizard guy before going out on his own. Glad to further comment.

With the tag "dent man" I'll bet he's tackled worse than mine lol.
I'll see what surfaces locally but I wouldn't rule out traveling for the right guy.
i just think w/the eng out at the moment a mobile guy might have an easier time of it.
Appreciate the tip....

Scroll to the top & you'll see the before pic. The guy said he spent 4 days using heat, pressure & various tools to get it to release. The paint cracked (ugh) at the least likely spot, away from the worst crease. Oh well, looks 80% better. If I go the body shop route someday, they will need very little filler. I'll live w/it as is for now.

I’m not surprised at all, these guys are truly artists. I can’t see where the paint cracked in that shot.
