Default lengthened front control arm

Hello,

Is er anybody who ever made a lengthened version of a 964/993 front control arm, like 3-4 cm's wider (1-1,5 inch)
We are looking for this to gain a wider front width but maintaining a negative scrub radius, so not using rims with a small offset.

Are you looking to widen front track? You can move front suspension to outside mounts and gain about 3cm width per side in track width.

As mentioned you can run the longitudinals to the turbo or outboard setting if not enough you can switch to the 993 longitudinals which push it out an additional 12.5mm per side. I am running this setup on my track car with widebody conversion. This should get you close to where you want to be. Makes a serious improvement.

Sorry only picture i can access. I run either 9 or 9.5" front wheels. The ones pictured are 9"

Hi,

thank you all for all your input.
We already run the outer holes an have ran the 993 longitudinals. It is for a 993 gt2 with evo 2 body which is very wide.

Go look at the pictures of the BBi RWB 993 StreetCup project on the BBi Autosport and Bell's AutoSport Facebook pages. They are running some type of a tubular front control arm. This is probably being done in order to accommodate the water-cooled wheel carriers so that they can run a modern center-lock hub.

Yes, BBI uses some custom fabricated control arms. I tried to contacted them but I never got a reply.
I think they used it for the same reason as we want. To push the wheel carrier further out to maintain correct geometry.

I can't find any better pictures which shows how the carrier is mounted on the a-arm

Suspension on the BBI car is fully custom built.

These guys may have partnered with BBi on the suspension engineering side of that 993 build. Perhaps contact them directly?
